It's worth paying more attention to the skin around your eyes, as the first signs of skin aging become visible in the eye area. This is because the skin around the eyes lacks the plumping subcutaneous fatty tissue, and sebaceous and sweat glands are scarce. As a result, the eye area is usually somewhat drier and thinner than the rest of the facial skin. In this area, the skin is particularly thin, with a thickness of 0.5mm (cf. general facial skin approx. 1.75-2.5mm).

Stress, screen work, and lack of sleep can exacerbate dark circles, shadows, and puffiness. Due to the mimic muscles, such as frequent blinking (approx. 15,000 times a day), about 15 of the 22 muscles around the eye move. Blinking can promote wrinkle formation.

General tips and tricks for beautiful eyes
- Eye pads (cooling gel pads, cucumbers, or cold spoons from the refrigerator) temporarily reduce under-eye puffiness and fine lines. A cream provides lasting effectiveness.
- Protect your eyes with sunglasses to avoid squint lines.
- Consciously relax your eyes by letting them gaze into the distance. Conscious blinking activates the drainage of tear fluid and lymph.
- To intensify the cooling effect, you can store the eye cream in the refrigerator.
- You should start with good eye care by age 25-30 at the latest, but it's never too late to make a difference.
